This is the video to introduce my project to you. I made it for a crowdfunding campaign I did in the end of 2017. It gives you an impression of the project. Let's introduce myself to you

My name is Jorien Timmers (1991) graduated psychologist at the 'Vrije Universiteit van Amsterdam'. (Bachelor of Science) After graduating, I have worked and traveled abroad for 2.5 years and have, among other things, developed this project called 'Eco Bus America'. Since April 2018 I am in the Netherlands to further develop the project. In September and October I did a try-out tour of my project in Europe. At the moment I am running my project at schools in the Netherlands and in the meantime I am preparing for the next step to continue this project in Latin America.
The goal​
​
The 'Eco Bus America' project is committed to education in the field of environmental problems, with the focus on the problems caused by the excessive use of plastic in our current society. The goal of this project is to create awareness about this among the people. I want to make adults and children aware of it, in a fun and accessible way showing them that we ourselves can do a lot against those environmental problems in our daily lives. This starts by being aware of the impact our daily habits have on our planet, to than have a closer look at our own habits we can change in a more environmentally conscious way in our daily lives. I want to show that in order to improve the world, we have to take the first step ourselves.
How and What?​

I visit schools, culture centers, festivals etc. and try to show children and adults the seriousness of the problems in different ways, but above all to explain how they themselves can contribute to a better world. I try to inspire people in different ways, namely by giving presentations and workshops about my own life in which I try to use as little waste as possible, but also by making music and by showing short films. I do this all while traveling in a 'as environmentally friendly as possible' van that also serves as a living example of how I try to live as environmentally friendly as possible.

Future
My project is called 'Eco Bus America'. This is not for nothing. The big goal is to carry out my project in Latin America. I will travel from Patagonia to California. A journey that will take at least three years. I want to do this in a 'as environmentally friendly as possible' van. To get to the starting point, namely Patagonia (south of Argentina) I will sail the ocean with a boat. I hope to start this journey early in the spring of 2019. Once in a while I post videos with the aim of finally making a documentary of the entire project. I've already started filming during the try-out tour in Europe.
Present
At this moment I'm preparing this big trip. I am working on finding / converting my van, looking for a boat that wants to sail me and the van, prepare and further develop my project, but also during these months of preparation I stay here visiting schools in the Netherlands and To earn money for my project, I am currently also working as a family coach in Amsterdam.
past
My project started in Argentina, where I did a first visit to a school in the village of San Andrés de Giles in early October 2017. A few weeks later on October 20, I started a two-month Crowdfunding campaign for my project. Then I continued to visit schools, cultural centers and festivals in Brazil, Spain and then in the Netherlands. In September and October I decided to do a try-out tour by traveling from the Netherlands to Spain and back again with a borrowed van and help from Guillermo Zocca from Argentina with which I started a music duo and recorded a CD as a reward for the people who helped me with my Crowdfundings promotion during my stay in Argentina. This try-out tour in Europe was a great success and gave me a lot of extra perseverance to actually continue this project!
music​
​
music plays an important role in my project. It is an indirect way of inspiring people. When I was younger, I had lessons in classical singing and since traveling in South America, looking for the design of my project, I started to pick up the singing after years by taking a ukulele and doing it singing, in this case of Latin American music, to combine with the ukulele. For the crowdfundings-action of this project I made a CD with my Argentinian music duo Guillermo Zocca. The name of our Dúo is 'Dúo Todo' or 'Dúo everything'.
